- Philip Kurt Kressin is a classically trained composer and multi instrumentalist. He performs as a solo artist under the name Kirt.
Kirt combines elements of rock, indie pop, electronic music and orchestral music and unites tradition with future to create his sound. While being a solo artist, he collaborates with various other artists. More on www.kirt.de www.myspace.com/kirtmusic
Kirt was born in Frankfurt a.M., Germany and grew up bilingually in a multinational school. At the age of sixteen Kirt decided to move to a music specialized school near London. After completing A-Levels he spent one year on a ranch in Argentina in near isolation to refine his composition skills. Kirt moved back to England to study classical composition for 4 years. On his return to Germany, he began the work on the album “Cyan”. A second world war bunker, transformed into a state of the art studio, became Kirt´s headquarter for all production work, which included film music, German hip hop, electronic music, and the recording and mixing of “Cyan”.
After 2 years of meticulous work on “Cyan”, Kirt returned to beloved Argentina to complete the album. The artwork, promotion material and a second mastering, were all created in the inspiring city of Buenos Aires, where Kirt decided to begin the distribution and promotion of “Cyan” in Argentina. Kirt has toured across the whole of Argentina since, and is oscillating between New York, Frankfurt and Buenos Aires.
